Caleb stood beside the door, gripping the box tighter in his hands as he watched his mate quietly going about her day. “What are you doing, Caleb?” Kaya asked, sensing his presence as she pulled another pair of shoes from a box and placed them beside the others.

“Enjoying the view,” he responded as she bent forward on her hands and knees, giving him a better glimpse of her ass. He shot her a cocky smile and she tossed her hair over her shoulder with a satisfied smirk of her own.

“Well, Sir, it’s much better from the front, this I assure you.”

“Mmm well that all depends on what I’m looking at.” With quick steps he moved towards her, lovingly kissing her cheek before handing her the beautifully wrapped gift box.

Ulrick waited outside the studio for the black car to arrive. The photographer was getting anxious and Night shift was already twenty minutes late. Glancing at his watch again, he sighed as he retrieved his phone, preparing to send another urgent text to his lead singer when the sound of tires crunching over gravel pulled his eyes up. “Finally!” he said as Connor and Eli hopped out of the front seats of the vehicle.

Eli grabbed the backdoor and Kaya popped out with Dominick wrapped in her arms. Connor took Kaeleigh from her car seat and followed Caleb who carried Joseph. “You try wrangling three very active, hungry, crying babies into clothes and car seats and see how quickly you make appointments,” Kaya said before leaning over to greet her manager with a peck on the cheek.

Ulrick took the opportunity to steal one from the child in her arms and cooed at the eldest of the triplets. “You’re right, I’m sorry. I was just beginning to think you were blowing this off.”

Vaughn, I need you. It’s time. You must come now. I don’t know how much longer I can hold on. “Chandria!” Vaughn awakened with a start, his heart was pounding furiously in his chest and his breathing was ragged. Looking around the room, he gained a sense of where he was before pulling his legs to the side of the bed. Slowly, he felt his heart return to a normal pace as he took in deep breaths to steady himself.

Chandria hadn’t been able to do that before. He wondered briefly what it could mean; were her powers growing? Was she getting weaker? And if so, would he be able to call upon her magics as he needed in order to find her? Dammit! Why hadn’t she given him a location or anything to go on? Lexi was proving more powerful than he could have hoped but, with Kaya’s help he would be able to get the last ingredient he’d need: her blood. It would be useful when the time came.

The feel of this man…this wolf, touching her so intimately was sinful enough but, the idea she was betraying her family, her brothers…was this what she wanted?

“Which one of you did it?” he asked, shaking the cloth at each pup.

Hiding a smile she turned her attention to the three cubs as they each growled and barked at their redheaded uncle. “You didn’t eat Unky Connor’s shirt, did you? No, not my babies. You’re all good pups, aren’t you?” With the question, Joseph gave Kaya’s cheek a feverish lap while Dominick and Kaeleigh scurried towards Connor.

Caleb and Charlie stood on either side of the bed, securing Kaya down as the doctor diligently went to work. Roberta moved to Kaya’s side. Placing her stethoscope in her ears, she listened to the Luna’s heart and the rapid succession of beats that signified arrhythmia. “Kaya, do you mind lifting your dress for me? I’d like to run a quick sonogram to see where we are here.”
