Luther watched the house for any signs of life. As much as she’d told him she had no need for him or his help, she didn’t waste any time sending a distress signal when things got too gritty. Something had gone terribly wrong in her plan, he was waiting on that; had warned her of such. Messing with a Beta of another pack and someone who he wouldn’t trust as far as he could throw him it was bound to happen. Then again, he didn’t trust anyone but himself but he knew that sooner or later Giselle would very much get stabbed in the back by Drew. The smell of blood lured him closer towards the territory line and he dropped to the ground in attack mode with the sense that at any moment, he’d get his hands dirty.

Luther paced the length of his office thinking over his conversation with Rafe. It was a speech he’d heard himself give on numerous occasions; power and privilege available through Gideon. He never believed a word of it. His intentions were to gain that power for himself. As Alpha, any wolf within his pack had a direct connection to him and any “power” they may have would be owned and controlled by him. Of course he conveniently left that part out during his conversation.

She could smell them around her and fear took over for a moment before she dug her claws into the Earth and ripped clumps of mud and grass away picking up speed. “Rafe!” she called as she neared the retreating wolves, Luther at the front. Rafe stopped and turned to look at her, causing Luther to turn as well and move menacingly close.

Rafe is going crazy waiting for his transition and asks Kaya to retrieve some personal effects for him from his place. She heads to his apartment and runs into Gideon wolves. Byron of Gideon helps her escape and they get back to their manor but arriving empty handed places Luther in a foul mood and he takes it out on an unsuspecting victim.

And at night, they worked on hunting, shifting and harnessing the full power of the moon. Though he had yet to fully transition, she wanted to ensure when the time came he would be fully prepared.
