“It’s nice to meet you,” Roberta smiled, extending her hand. “I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about you.” Kaya’s eyes moved to Vaughn. He shrugged and stepped closer to his son’s side.

“Well I hope Vaughn hasn’t over embellished. I’m very grateful that you came; we both are,” Kaya replied, and tugged at Caleb’s hand.

“It’s great to see you again, Bertie,” Caleb greeted her with a smile before glancing down at Kaya. “So, will you be staying with us indefinitely?”

Charlie, Caleb, Sophie and the others were all in the backyard celebrating the news of the pregnancy while she hid away in Caleb’s study. “You left about fifteen minutes ago to grab more liquor and no one’s seen you since.” Kaya turned to face him and tried to paste a smile on her face but failed. “Why so glum chum? This is a celebration.”

“Maybe for some, but not me.”

“What? Peaches, you’re having a baby!”

“Or babies, according to Mandy. She thinks I’m carrying an entire soccer team in my belly.”

“Well, I wasn’t gonna say anything but, you are looking kinda chunky.”

He leaned forward thrusting one last time within her and kissed her shoulder as he released in a satisfied grunt.
