“Rafe, Rafe, Rafe,” Luther grinned circling around the entrapped wolf. He was hanging by his wrists in the all too familiar dungeon Luther had spent hours in torturing and maiming his victims. Seeing the supposed wild wolf suspended vulnerable and defenseless above him strapped to the beaten wooden post brought utter joy and satisfaction to him. “Look at where we are now.” A wicked laugh filled the room and Luther stepped back to lean against the rack waiting for Rafe’s gaze to meet his.

Episode 29: Dogs Are People Too

Summary: The hunters' past is shown through the eyes of their father and Lucy comes to a shocking revelation about her brother. Rafe tries to convince Kaya to go home and face her father about what she learned at Luther's. She goes knowing he is right but grudgingly. Rafe is confronted outside his apartment.

Officer Charles Riley had been coming over for weeks now helping the Cranes plan and plot. He wanted to learn all he could about wolves and the way they first manifested. Though Harley could answer his questions, all of them had he wanted to, he thought it best to leave him in the dark about a few things. Telling him only what he felt he should know he intentionally gave him anger, purpose and focus towards destroying all the wolves and ridding the town of their furry asses.

It didn’t hurt that the Cranes had a law enforcement officer in their back pocket in case anything like the full moon situation were to occur again. But it also hindered them in more ways than they were willing to admit. As with wolves, hunters are born into the game prepared and ready to kill any hairy monster that comes their way; it’s nature’s way of maintaining the balance. They were not able to stay on task knowing the very mortal cop was riding their tails every step. Unable to use all of their abilities with him present, they stuck to using him for their ends.

Episode 28: Nature of the Beast

“Kaya can we talk?” Lobo knocked hesitantly on his daughter’s door before pushing his way into her room. Her bed was still made and nothing appeared disturbed bringing him to the conclusion she hadn’t slept there last night. “Kaya?” he sniffed around and realized she was not even present in the manor. His first thought was of Rafe and he knew she must have disobeyed him again. Growing angrier by the minute he rushed towards Connor’s door and threw it open without knocking. “Where is she?”

“Alpha!” Connor instantly took a knee in front of his Elder and let his gaze meet the floor. “I’m not sure I follow Alpha.”

“My daughter, Connor, where is Kaya?”

“I…I don’t know.”

Episode 27: Who's Afraid of the Big Bad...

A tender moan passed her lips and pulled the Alpha forward watching the wolf toss in her sleep. He cussed under his breath upset about the fact that she was brought to him in this condition and angry that he now had to wait for her to recover before they could speak. He sat a fresh pitcher of water on his bar and made his way back to the seat in front of her to continue looking over her. She looked perfect; facial features he recognized and gazed upon numerous times in his youth and eyes that saw into his soul.

Another moan followed by movement and a muscle stretch pulled him from reverie and he rested upon his arm waiting for her to come to. “Welcome back,” Luther grinned as Kaya’s eyes fluttered open. “I thought you’d be out all night. Don’t worry I’ve spoken to Dexter about his use of force with you. We wouldn’t want him to damage the goods before we make use of the merchandise now would we?”

Episode 26: Unguarded

Kaya checked herself one last time in the mirror. She was wearing her mother’s favorite hostess dress for tonight’s festivities. As Beta she’d take the place of the pack Luna’s position and greet their pack members and guests as they came out to celebrate and welcome Rafe into the fold. She was excited he’d agreed to it and hoped to prove her father wrong about wild wolves and their inability to remain sociable.

Though she was happy to be able to welcome Rafe into Greymane, there were other reasons to be concerned. Not just because they were still unsure of his history and where he came from but if there are reasons these kinds of wolves remained rogue, she was hoping she wasn’t inviting danger into her home. With affiliation comes power, though no where as equal as that attained from mating but enough to enhance one’s lycan abilities. Would a wild wolf be tempted? Lobo felt certain that with any degree of power wild wolves would become uncontrollable.

Episode 22: The Wilderness Pack

The rain cloud popped up over the ridge out of nowhere, a dark cloud that suddenly appeared above the treetops blocking out the sun. They didn't even have time to scout a good area to drop the stakes for their tents before it broke loose and drenched them both to the bone.

“Well I guess we’re setting up camp here,” Kaya smiled and raised her head to the sky taking in the abrupt shower allowing it to bombard her face and hair freely. Rafe smiled watching her and strolled over casually. Lifting her at her waist he spun her in the downpour and she laughed. “Hey! You’re gonna get us dizzy!”
