“And how are my two favorite people doing?” Lexi asked,
opening the door to the cellar. Chandria looked up before her eyes fell on the
man in the corner. He had not spoken a word since Lexi had chained him to the
wall three days ago. His eyes remained fixed on the floor but, Chandria would
hear him cry at times, his heart breaking over and again. “Daddy, you missed
it, a reunion that I’m sure would have cured that loneliness of yours. But, no
matter, with the lunar shift, you and your new friend here will finally be
cured of all that ails you. Soon,” she said as she shut the door, plunging them
back into darkness.
