Kaya sat in the Women’s Health & Family Planning clinic in the
small town of Mystic Springs beneath Shadowvale waiting to be called back. Each
time the heavy wooden door opened, she found herself turning towards it and sighing
as more people filled the waiting room. One woman after the other, each with
swollen bellies, checked in at reception and took seats around her. The women
were happy and excited towards the promise of being new Moms. It was evident in
the way they casually exchanged stories and freely touched each other’s tummies.
